    Pink Feathers – Keep Pretending

Each track Pink Feathers aka Liz Anjos has released in anticipation of her debut EP, Invisible Lines, has been more wistful and catchy than the last. “Keep Pretending” is no exception with danceable production from RAC and universally winsome vocals from Liz that matches the hypnotic hook. After one reason it is very apparent why the talented husband and wife musicians chose the words “can’t stop” to circulate your brain. The epic burst of energy at the 2:40 mark should also provide a euphoric punch to your Friday afternoon. Stream Pink Feathers‘ “Keep Pretending” below

Speaking of remixes, The Magician‘s latest free offering aka Magic Tape 47 could have easily made up a Remix Friday post on its own. I’ve enjoyed the past few Magic Tapes, but 47 might live up to being one of the producer’s best with a choice selection of repeat-worthy remixes and originals. Sleuths in the comments section seem to have uncovered all of the tracks featuring everyone from Todd Edwards to Shift K3y. If you figure out track number 9, let me know! Stream the Magician’s Magic Tape 47 in full below plus individual tracks

Jack Garratt – The Love You’re Given

Jack Garratt‘s latest single “The Love You’re Given” is nearly as chilling as George Maple’s “Vacant Space”. The sparse keys and percussion match the pain Garratt emits with stirring vocals and a hovering vocal sample. The production’s vocal distortion method provides a dichotomous relationship with Garratt’s high notes and emulates the conflict present in the narrative. Stream “The Love You’re Given” below and listen/buy Garratt’s Remnants EP at Spotify and iTunes

    George Maple – Vacant Space

Don’t be ashamed if you have an addictive relationship with George Maple‘s music. I had her Flume-produced single “Talk Talk” on repeat for likely longer than the average human being and again once JackLNDN released a superb remix. Maple’s intoxicating vocals strike a similar chord to Jessie Ware’s with me, but the Future Classic artist’s is clearly more interested in experimentation. “Vacant Space” is the spacey title track of her soon to be released debut EP and features a hook that is nearly as addictive as “Talk Talk”, but in a different way. Maple’s pipes

Remix Friday 10/21 ft Bee’s Knees, bvnny, RAC, Viceroy, DiscoTech & more

Morocco, Nov. 2014. via Travelstache So many remixes, so little time. In fact, with the amount of quality remixes that hit my inbox this week, I didn’t even get a chance to search for a top throwback remix of the week. Bee’s Knees continued their synth and funk-filled hit streak with an excellent reworking of the FunkLordz aka Chromeo and Chuck Inglish’s collaboration on “Legs”. Bvnny returned with an perfect pairing of ODESZA’s own remix of Slow Magic’s “Waited 4 U” plus TSwift’s “Bad Blood” and Poo Bear/Tyga’s “Work For It”. You already know what RAC and

Daniel Wilson – If You Went Away

Unique voices have a way of grabbing a listener no matter the musical circumstance. Alex Winston, Sam Smith, Lykke Li and Raphael Saadiq all come to mind as vocalists you probably remember the first time you heard. Daniel Wilson from nearby Ypsilanti, MI has that same feel but with an intriguing edge and genre-defying production. Wilson had already made noise with emotive tracks like “Killed Ya” and “Heartbreaker”, but his latest effort truly seems poised for a star-ready moment. “If You Went Away” shines with a sparse intro that isolates Wilson’s reverberating pipes (+ chilling

Mary J. Blige – Follow (produced by Disclosure)

I’ve been loving Mary J. Blige‘s recent turn as a dance music diva, especially with Disclosure involved. Blige isn’t a stranger to making people move considering she gladly had people dancing with past hits like “Family Affair” and “Dance With Me”. However, the garage and house influences of her upcoming project The London Sessions seem more like a welcome evolution, than a complete departure. “Follow” is the latest release from The London Sessions and just premiered via Disclosure’s Soundcloud. The duo produced the track along with “Right Now” and the brothers Lawerance made sure to
