Fader had a thorough and interesting feature on budding star Porter Robinson in conjunction with the release of new single “Flicker”. The story gave an in depth profile of PR’s quick rise through the EDM world, but also detailed his anxiety and battle in wanting to be more than pigeon-holed in the genre. “Flicker” does feature a bassy drop that many faithful fans are looking for, but the track’s doesn’t belabor the genre trope. The boom is only part of a well-balanced pop experiment with a stuttered Japanese poetry sample, sunny synth and bassline. It

Caseville, MI. July 2014. What a week, eh? I don’t have another class until about 31 days from now so expect a lot of new music coming your way. That includes more remixes than you’ll likely be able to handle : ) This week’s edition of Remix Friday is primarily filled with reworkings from many JayeL Audio favorites like RAC, Elephante and bvnny. However, many of my favorite remixers are working with tracks from new artists (at least new to me) like Bebe Rexha, Sander Van Doorn, Martin Garrix, Nitro Fun and more. You’ll definitely

Now that my Spring semester is finally over, the summer of JayeL Audio can finally begin. Let’s get back to the music. Solidisco has essentially outdone themselves with each remix they’ve produced in 2014. From their electro pop take on “Bound 2″ to their party starter rendition of Icona Pop’s “Just Another Night”, the duo from Buffalo are experts in making dancefloor remixes. Where Solidisco is vastly underrated is their in their originals catalog. Early favorite “Top Of The World” would make Daft Punk proud with its otherworldly house bounce and “Feel Good” enchants with

Another big week for remixes. The White Panda owned this week with 5 releases and ended the week strong with a mash-up of Imogen Heap’s immortal vocals from “Hide and Seek” and an upbeat production from Audien. The Melker Project shows another reason why he is more than a mash-up maestro with an elegant, piano-filled mix of Disclosure’s “Latch”. Elsewhere, Diplo remixed “Tennis Court” (and fully admitted Flume’s rendition was better), Win & Woo made Nico & Vinz’s song of the summer that much more danceable and Fred Falke blesses Eden with what I’ll call

In case you missed it, The White Panda have owned this week with a new release every day. Their latest “Cooler Than Latch”, is the one I’ve been waiting for though. Ever since I heard Sam Smith’s smooth vocals from Disclosure’s “Latch” meet the synthy beat of Mike Posner’s “Cooler Than Me” on Bearly Legal, I knew I needed a full version. Worth.The.Wait. I’d be perfectly happy if Ms. Ware crafted an album full of quiet storm-style slow jams, like new single “Share It All”. I doubt all of Tough Love will be like the moody, sparse production provided by Julio Bashmore, but songs like this show how majestic Ware’s vocals truly are. Stream “Share It All” below and pre-order Tough Love now. BONUS: Tough Love (Cyril Hahn Remix) jessie ware Tour Dates
