Chelsea Lankes – Too Young To Fall In Love (Mötley Crüe cover)

Mötley Crüe is not music I’d normally choose to listen with, but I’m beginning to think any song newcomer Chelsea Lankes touches is more than worthwhile. Fresh off the success of hit “Down For Whatever”, the LA singer/songwriter proved she has the ability to transform hair metal into indie pop gold on “Too Young To Fall In Love”. Lankes described the interesting choice with: “There are so many great lyrics and melodies from that era and dressed up a little differently, they can still be a really great pop song.” Stream Chelsea Lankes’ take on

    Jack + Eliza – Diamonds

by • on Mar 3, 15 • in Indie • with No Comments

Rising NYC duo Jack + Eliza caught the attention of many last year with their excellent EP, No Wonders (iTunes). Count Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor as a fan and now collaborator, as he helped produce the entrancing new single “Diamonds”. The twosome once again weaved their voices with hazy guitar and melody that harkens back to late ’60s psych pop. The track will live on J + E’s proper debut album, Gentle Warnings, this June with producer Chris Zane returning. Stream Jack + Eliza‘s “Diamonds” below and look for Gentle Warnings on June 9th. KiD CuDi – love. ft Ratatat

I’m not sure what it is about KiD CuDi when he gets a hold of a Ratatat beat, but it should happen more often. The Brooklyn musicians/producers blessed Cudder’s debut Man on the Moon: The End of Day with see-saw guitar riffs and rhythms on two of his best tracks in “Alive” and of course, “Pursuit of Happiness”. So I’m sure you can imagine how well-received “love.”, a previously unreleased slow burner was when it was released today. The nearly 6 minute cut meanders in a positive way as CuDi flexes and waxes poetic over

The collective known as sideways is sure to keep their recent success going with new Coleman Hell single “Take Me Up”. The inspiring message of the indie pop anthem matches the bursting production featuring rollicking percussion, see-saw keys and Hell’s own punctuated vocals. The melody is nearly as catchy as blog-favorite “2 Heads” as well, so good luck getting the hand-clap-filled outro out of your head anytime soon.
