Seoul, South Korea. August 2015 via TRAVELSTACHE. Back again with a stash of new and recent reworkings that have kept me going over the past month. In 2015, RF has been filled a lot of big room and tropical-inspired anthems that are meant to pull you to the dancefloor or festival field. There are still a few of those this week with Justin Caruso’s brave remix of The Who’s immortal “Baba O’Riley”, Win and Woo’s beach ready version of The Griswolds “Right On Track” and Young Bombs’ fist pump worthy take on FLETCHER’s “War Paint&#

ODESZA – Light (feat. Little Dragon) + 11/20 Detroit Show

Seattle producers ODESZA have experienced quite the 2015 with the success of their album In Return, tons of HypeMachine approved remixes and appearances at major festivals like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. I was lucky enough to catch their enthralling and drum-filled late night show at Wayhome and would highly recommend it as well. The much deserved attention also earned ODESZA the opportunity to rerelease In Return as a “deluxe edition” this September. The new single “Light” serves as the swirling synth/percussion-filled new single and features the ethereal vocals of Little Dragon’s Yukimi Nagano. Nagaon’s otherworldly vocals

Uchisar Castle in Göreme, Turkey via TRAVELSTACHE Has it truly been a month since I’ve put out a new Remix Friday playlist? SHAME. In my defense, I knocked out another semester of grad school, went to my first camping music fest and traveled west to Aspen during that time. Anyway, Remix Friday is jam-packed with a slew of slick remixes to catch up on. Favorites like Lost Kings, RAC and Eau Claire provided worthy updates of Rozes, filious and Midnight Pool Party cuts, while gents of The White Panda took a break from mash-ups to

As I prep for my weekend travels from Detroit to Denver/Aspen, it seemed fitting that electronic acts GRiZ and Big Gigantic would release “Good Times Roll”. The Detroit/Colorado acts are the torch bearers for the electronic funk sound and summery fun of “Good Times Roll” is as good as fans could hope for. Aside from the collaboration, the Detroit sax man has been also kept music flowing recently with single “Summer ’97” ft Muzzy Bear and a remix EP ft Autograf, Big Wild & more. I’m not going even lie, between the end of summer semester, Wayhome recovery and Dr. Dre’s new album release, there simply has not been time for Remix Friday. However, a new reworking from Solidisco is enough to break my trance from Compton. I thoroughly love most things Chromeo and appreciate DJ Cassidy‘s recent releases, but NY producers Solidisco gave “Future Is Mine” exactly the touch I hoped the original would have. The duo’s remix spotlights P-Thugg’s talkbox and pushes the tempo with tropical synth and percussion for a danceable, summer affair. Stream Solidisco’s take on

I’m slowly working my way through festival withdrawals post-Wayhome Music & Arts Festival (you could say I’m #wayhomesick). If there is anyone that can get me out of this funk, it is certainly Philip George. The Nottingham producer first caught my attention via The Magician’s Magic Tapes and I still listen to “Love Inside” at least once a weekend. New single “Alone No More” inspires with escalating vocals, spiraling synth, pulsing percussion and danceable rhythms galore. Stream Philip George’s “Alone No More” and previous single “Afraid To Love” below. BONUS: Afraid To Love Mr. Probz-Do

Mash-up maestro’s The White Panda must have heard me complaining recently at the lack of quality new mash-ups hitting my ears. The duo announced they would be releasing 5 new mash-ups this week, While they are prepping a full album of remixes sure to finish 2015 with bang. The first two releases tackled some of the biggest songs of the past year and paired them with surprising compliments. “Lean On To The Next One” was an instant favorite by capitalizing on Major Lazer/M0’s mega-hit with one of my favorite Hova tracks of the post-Black Album
