You’ve probably seen Ohio-raised production duo The Kickdrums pop up here from time to time.  With Fitty supplying vocals and lending a hand to Tilla on the beats, their gaining a following.  They’ve been churning out remixes (The Black Kids, Kanye West, Adele) and a slick mixtape, Smash the System (definitely listen to KiD CuDi “Sky High”), that should have your full attention.  When their not making grimy beats for hip-hoppers, they dabble in indie music as well.  Probably my favorite tidbit from their bio states: “Until the beat sounds perfect on a car’s sound system — their testing ground of choice — it’s not done.”  I mean, iPod ear buds and computer speakers can only do so much, right?

The Kickdrums are currently crafting an EP, Just A Game, due March 6th.  2dopeboyz posted a trailer recently, and the title track has been ringing in my head ever since.  Anyone who can tell me where those bad ass horns and strings came from (I’m thinking a Kanye, Common or Jay-Z song) gets the next JayeL Audio mixtape early.
