Toronto-based band Bravestation recently floated to my inbox and was a refreshing surprise. The quartet’s recent 2010 EP made an instant impression on me wavering somewhere between post punk (“White Wolves”) and new wave (“Clocks & Spears”). The industrial sound echoes thru lead singer Devin Wilson’s see-saw vocals (reminiscent of Tom Smith of Editors) and furthered by the harmonious backing vocals, drum, keys and bass. Fans of Wolf Parade, Yeasayer and Local Natives will fall in love immediately.
