Speaking of summa summa time, Creative Loafing just let loose a self explanatory track from Atlanta’s own (by way of Augusta), Turf War. “Summer Time Booze” is about exactly what you think, but with Turf War’s signature garage rock and with a little bit of surf guitar to go along with it.

I can’t say I’m a huge fan of this jam, but I can see how it would be appealing if I were hanging out at one of those big white life guard huts with a bunch of girls wearing Holister hoodies over their bikinis and sing/screaming along to chorus while holding their Coronas, the air rich with promises of beach fires and hippie dancing.

Maybe it will grow on me.

  • It will grow on you, but I am a Hollister model.

Sidenote: how awesome would it be if Alan Jackson was on the remix? “Summertime Blues” + “Summertime Booze” anyone?
