STREAM: Martin Solveig – The Night Out (A-Trak Remix)

We all know A-Trak’s got remixes. His choice reinterpretations of “All The Way Turnt Up” and “Heads Will Roll”, and his mash-up “High Heartbeats” combining Kanye and The Knife still consistently are on my weekend playlists. Take a listen to his reworking of Martin Solveig’s party starter “The Night Out” below:

A-Trak was feeling extra generous, so head to his Facebook page for remixes of Waka Flocka Flame’s “Round of Applause” and The Throne’s “Gotta Have It”.

Mansions on the Moon – Take A Look & Spring Tour

Mansions on the Moon initially impressed with Paradise Falls, an album co-signed by DJ Benzi and Diplo. If you aren’t acquainted with “She Makes Me Feel”, get familiar below:
Mansions on the Moon – She Makes Me Feel (.mp3)

The act’s space age ambient pop with a hip-hop edge must have charmed Pharrell as well, since he executive produced their latest EP, Lightwaves. All five tracks balance pop sensibility with a sense of calm, but “Take A Look” shines as synthy piece that would line up nicely next to M83 on your next playlist.

Download Lightwaves here for the price of a tweet or fb “like”.

Even more exciting, their just announced tour features a stop at the brand new ATL venue, Terminal West. If you’ve been following their progress on Facebook, you’re probably just as amped as I am to check out the shiny new space.

Festivalist ’12: Bonnaroo Initial Line-up

Like I mentioned previously, you can’t really compare Hangout and Bonnaroo for many reasons (history, farm vs. beach, 4 day vs. 3 day, tent vs. condo, etc)….but if you were Bonnaroo did a damn good job of showing why they are the king of festivals on this side of the country. Headliners featuring some of the biggest bands of the last twenty years? Check. Legendary jam band? Check. Nostalgic reunion band? Top indie acts? Check. Hip Hop of the past, present and future? Check. Electronic acts for late night fun? Check. One of the top comedians right now? Check. All of those things and the list isn’t even complete yet.

STREAM: Walk the Moon – Next In Line

Another act I’m expecting a lot from in 2012. These guys have pop anthems for days and Walk the Moon‘s energetic live performance has been getting rave reviews over the past few years. While we wait for WTM’s major label debut, stream “Next In Line” below and pick up the just released Anna Sun EP here. “Tightrope” is all sorts of Talking Heads and I love it.

New Mash-ups: Art Van Delay – Galore

I’ve been addicted to Melbourne’s Art Van Delay‘s Flux Pavillion/Luda mash-up for a few months, so I was certainly glad to see a new album on the way. Galore continues on that moment with an insanely deep sample list featuring everyone from Trina to the Rapture to Florence to the Beastie Boys. The juxtaposition of a remix of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” with Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and Birdman/Weezy’s “Stuntin’ Like My Daddy” works particularly well.
Stream below and download here and be sure to like Art Van Delay on facebook.
