Mystery isn’t exactly a new thing in music, but it certainly worked well for The Weeknd. While The Neighbourhood won’t ever be confused with Abel Tesfaye, they did have the blog world on lock this past month with a mix of ambiguity and an interesting sound. Previously featured cut “Sweater Weather” charmed with blue-eyed soul vocals, a striking hook and subtle hip-hop tendencies. “Female Robbery” is a tad more haunting with a shouting sample, paced drum, reverb and what sounds like paranoia of a criminal. Listen below and look for their EP, I’m Sorry on May 7th.
