Their debut is an excellent transition to Spring and will no doubt be permeating any beach scene you encounter this Summer. Chicago-based siblings Elliot and Natalie Bergman formed Wild Belle after growing up in a music household and leading separate bands. Isles expands on the vast potential of early singles like psych rock influenced “Keep You” and pop gold of “Take Me Away”. Each cut balances Natalie’s enchanting raspy vocals and Lily Allen-like tales of love and heartbreak with Elliot’s funky brass. While it is easy to focus on the reggae influence, Motown pop (“Shine”) and blues (“Happy Home”) both are interspersed throughout and make for a well rounded debut. Stream your soundtrack to the Summer via Spotify and purchase at Amazon or iTunes.
