photo (22)Summer is still around for a week (I live in semester timelines again), so why not go out with a boat load of new music? This mixtape edition took a little longer than planned, but I’m glad I waited in the end. Otherwise, I would have left behind what I like to call the “summer-trifecta” of beach-ready anthems from Saint Pepsi, Viceroy and The Knocks. Also on the mixtape, Bon Iver returned with a contribution to Zac Braff’s latest curated soundtrack, RAC remixed Tove Stryke for party/workout playlist purposes and budding act Sinkane proved another reason why Yeasayer and Janelle Monae have co-signed his work.

My current favorite/addiction comes from Kill Paris w/the help of Bees Knees on his keytar mix of “Falling In Love Again”. The repeat-worthy track has a nu-disco/funk appeal that Chromeo would be proud of and features a sing-along ready hook that I can’t get out of my head. Besides, who doesn’t love a good keytar? Let me know your favorites in the comments!

Special thanks to NPR’s All Songs Considered, All Things Go, Pretty Much Amazing and Hype Machine for the tunes.

Just wanted to say I enjoyed the living crap out of this mix. Personal favs are the Zola Jesus – found it uplifting, Sinkane – groovy and sounds like good crime show music, Broods – that beat just caught me, and the Whilk and Misky makes me wanna salsa dance and I don’t even know how to salsa dance. Sorry for the late comments but I thought better late than never. Nice work JT!

Thanks! The comments are always appreciated and I concur, especially on Sinkane. Still not sick of that one. I hope to have another mixtape out soon!
