I’ve been loving Mary J. Blige‘s recent turn as a dance music diva, especially with Disclosure involved. Blige isn’t a stranger to making people move considering she gladly had people dancing with past hits like “Family Affair” and “Dance With Me”. However, the garage and house influences of her upcoming project The London Sessions seem more like a welcome evolution, than a complete departure.
“Follow” is the latest release from The London Sessions and just premiered via Disclosure’s Soundcloud. The duo produced the track along with “Right Now” and the brothers Lawerance made sure to utlize Blige’s greatest asset: her voice. Mary sounds right at home on the bouyant percussion and synth-filled production because she brings soul and passion that is sometimes lacking in dance music productions.
