image002It certainly has been a minutes since I’ve heard new music from British outfit The Wombats. “Moving To New York” and “Let’s Dance To Joy Division” were addictive bursts of British Rock off the band’s debut in 2007 and 2011’s The Wombats Proudly Present: This Modern Glitch brought the trio an even wider audience. The band is prepping their third album Glitterbug for an April 6th release and just released first single “Greek Tragedy”. The song and accompanying video echo the catchy melodies of past tracks by The Wombats, but also utilize a synth-based effort reminiscent of Walk The Moon and Passion Pit’s recent work. Great company to be in, no doubt.

Stream “Greek Tragedy” below and preorder Glitterbug via iTunes or the Bright Antenna Records.

  • Love this song, shame on me I’ve never heard about the wombats! The distorted beats but then these almost girly vocals on top make me feel like I’m listening to a musical (in a good way)

Haha. Certainly has that musical feel, but they pull it off.
