70’s all weekend in Michigan is worth celebrating and there are plenty of remixes to soundtrack those celebrations. The Knocks continued their run of bootleg hits with their take on the semi-hilarious track “White Iverson” by Post Malone, Figgy proved I’m still not sick of Usher’s “Climax” on a house rework and Saint WKND gives Saint Motel’s everywhere-hit “My Type” a surge of synth and pulse. Elsewhere, Lefti, Elephante and Zac Samuel gave respective lifts to Chicos, Zedd and Major Lazer cuts, while Sam Feldt spiced up Zwette’s “Rush” a sax house update. Lastly, if you missed Mura Masa’s recent take over of Hype Machine’s popular page, be sure to visit the producer’s Someday Somewhere EP for multiple listens. However, The Hood Internet’s fusion of Jay-Z’s “H to the Izzo” with “Lovesick F***” was a genius pairing that I’ll likely end up listening to more than the original.
Odds are strong that if Armand Van Helden is part of a remix, it is likely to be the best remix of the week. That case was proven true again this week (technically last Friday, but still) as the legendary producer took a spin with Snakehips’ latest hit “Forever”.
