Patton Oswalt – The Burrough of Carbs

I don’t usually get a chance to write about comedy acts, but Patton Oswalt is one comedian worth writing about. His latest special Finest Hour just aired on Showtime and will be available on cd on 9/20. Take a listen to his hilarious musings on how lame Weight Watchers meetings are compared to AA and Narcotics Anonymous.

Patton Oswalt @The Earl: "Punch.Drink.Cry"

Patton_Oswalt
One of my favorite comedians, Patton Oswalt, is making a stop in Atlanta, GA next weekend.  Most people would probably recognize him as one Kevin James’ buddies from “King of Queens” or the voice of Remy the rat from Disney’s “Ratatouille”.  Despite his appearances in family friendly fare, his stand-up material is much the opposite.

His comedy album from last year, Werewolves & Lollipops, touches on topics ranging from KFC’s penitentiary-style menu item, origins of Star Wars, George W. Bush, the day-after pill and hilarious experiences in the entertainment industry.  And those are “polite” descriptions for the cackle-inducing set.

I’ve listened to it so many times, I can practically recite the entire routine and I can’t tell you how many words/situations I hear on a daily basis that some how relate.  His myspace blog is worthy of multiple reads as well.
