Mash-ups remix

Thursday Linkage: Clockwork, Chiddy Bang, Ellie Goulding, Hype Machine, and more

Draymond Green aka The Dancing Bear says its March Madness time
Back in the swing of things this weekend, I promise. I might even have a new mixtape soon, if March Madness doesn’t take over my life…

A) You’ve probably heard this everywhere and saw it top the Hype Machine’s “Popular Chart”, but I had to make sure. LA-based remixer Clocker turns the “Office” theme and Dwight Schrute into another canvas for Lil’ Wayne. He also has a great remix of Snoop & Cudder’s “That Tree”.
Clockwork – Office Musik featuring Dwight K. Schrute and Lil’ Wayne Thanks Carter (via Citizen Insane)

B) How do Chiddy Bang and Xaphoon Jones continue to craft great remixes like this? I’m really looking forward to more originals, but their reworkings of have been more than stellar. It helps that I love Ellie Goulding, but still…

C) In other remix news, Chicago’s Midnight Conspiracy hit up my inbox with an infectious remix of Chromeo’s “Night By Night”. The synths are a bit darker which gives the track a mysterious vibe that compliments Dave 1’s smoky vocals. They also have a pretty crazy mixtape, Deloreon Nights, that features remixes of MSTKRFT, The Presets and Klaxons. Check it out below.

D) I’ve been drooling over the SXSW festivities all week, but there are a few things to enjoy for those not in Austin, TX. Many party promoters/bands/labels have been dropping free music to build buzz for the big event down south. Here are a couple:
DJ Benzi Presents Elitaste x NUE Agency SXSW Mixtape (.zip file via Elitaste)
featuring Mike Posner, Asher Roth, Freddie Gibbs, PRGz, Outasight, Gigamesh and more.
Mike Posner – Cooler Than Me (Skeet Skeet Remix)
Amie Street’s 2010 SXSW Free Tracks (registration is free)
featuring Fool’s Gold, Flying Lotus, Surfer Blood, Princeton, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour and more.
NPR Music is also streaming concerts all week from the likes of Broken Bells, The Walkmen and Spoon. The small portion I heard from Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings was a great way to end the night.

E) If you are in Atlanta, GA on June 9th, you will probably be wishing you were at the Tabernacle attending the Passion Pit concert. Pre-sale tickets were let loose today at noon here:

F) It took awhile, but JayeL Audio is back on Hype Machine here:
Be sure to follow me there for easy listening. Also, friend me there as well to see what I’m listening to at:

G) Lastly, I’m revising my e-mail newsletter list to send out exclusive music, news and mixtapes. If you would like to be added to the group, comment below or e-mail me at
