STREAM: Freelance Whales – Locked Out

One of the more underrated albums of 2010 came from Queens upstarts, Freelance Whales. “Generator ^ First Floor” initially reeled me in (thanks Thomas) and “Hannah” along with the rest of Weathervanes made for a slick combo of indie pop and folk.

The band just debuted the first single “Locked Out” from their next album, Diluvia. CoS claims album numero two is “about the possible survival – or peril – of space-faring humans and other arguably fantastical scenarios”. That all sounds fine I suppose, but “Locked Out” sounds like more a wistful electro pop jam with a soothing horn section. Stream and DL below:

Pick up Freelance Whales new album Diluvia on October 9th via Mom+Pop Music and Frenchkiss Records.
