MIXTAPE: Narkfall

Back again with an over-sized collection of all that I’ve been enjoying in hip-hop this Fall. Big Sean seems to be on everyone’s tracks these days, but “Guap” serves as a catchy start to his sophomore album. Earl Sweatshirt shows why he is the most interesting emcee on Odd Future’s roster with “Chum”, while Fablolous makes us all pine for more Fab/Just Blaze collaborations. Speaking of blasts from the past, Wu Tang Clan reunites for RZA’s directorial debut, Freeway shows promise last heard when he was reppin’ the Roc on “Jungle” and Game goes for nostalgia with Bone Thugs n Harmony on the “1st of the Month”-sampling cut “Celebration”. Last but not least, two of my favorite tracks from Kendrick Lamar’s excellent breakthrough album. Purchase the entire album to hear his chilling autobiography in full. Sure to be one of the best albums of 2012.
