I don’t normally check NPR for hip-hop, but that might change soon. As part of NPR’s All Songs Considered SXSW preview Ann Powers came through with a surprise hip-hop gem amid a show full of rock joints. Her selection was Memphis rhymer Skewby and his soulful musings on “Go Figure”, a cut with a jazz-influenced-backing as he dissects a female’s psyche in a gentlemanly fashion.
