The second iteration of Freedom Hill’s MO POP Festival returns this weekend with a line-up that reads like your favorite blogger’s wish list. If you want established folk and rock acts, MO POP has City and Colour, Cold War Kids and Young the Giant. Are you into rising indie artists like The Neighbourhood, Bad Suns and Wild Cub? MO POP booked them too. How about buzzy bands with local ties, such as Lord Huron and Flint Eastwood? MO POP’s got you covered. Add in bands like Tokyo Police Club, JRoddy Walston, Hundred Waters, Bear Hands and Misterwives and you have a solid day of music ahead.
The best part of MO POP’s 1-day event is that you can see all of those acts without having to worry about missing a single act. Bands will grace the Harmonie and Grand stages without an overlapping set, which means you can see at least 14 acts for the modest price of $49.50 (plus fees). Find 4 friends and you get a 4-pack for $46/ticket.
Aside from the music on the main stages, MO POP organizers gathered the best food trucks in Metro Detroit, great brewers at the Mo Biergarten, MO Sideshow with Vaudeville Revival and a MO Art Village. MO Pop has all the makings for a well-rounded Saturday to be sure.
Going to MO POP? Let me know who you are most excited to see in the comments.
