Dance Electronic Mash-ups remix Remix Friday

Remix Friday 10/23 ft AMTRAC, Slinger, Molina, RAC, Robin Schulz & more

IMG_2847 Z-lot alley, Detroit, MI. October 2014.

Mid-60 degree weather at the end of October doesn’t happen in Michigan, so I’m going to spend as much time outside as possible this weekend. These remixes should serve as an excellent soundtrack no matter where you are.

Molina’s hyper-synth take on Vérité’s “Weekend” is apt for end of the week fun and Robin Schulz turns David Guetta’s latest into a string-infused composition that is much more palatable. The remixes in the middle section of this week’s RF are a bit more downtempo, but excellent in their own right. Amtrac and RAC pull back on furious synth trends for respective Shakka and Young & Sick remixes that both feature inescapable grooves perfect for sunset dance parties.

Fred Falke did it again with his sunshine ready remix of Krishane’s “Drunk and Incapable”. Falke’s transformation from the island rhythm-filled hit to an uptempo dance anthem is pure genius and made for an easy choice for top remix of the week. This week’s throwback remix of the week comes from ATL’s Treasure Fingers who released a DJ set from 2009 that reminded me how great his remix of Empire of the Sun’s “Walking on the Sun” was/is.

Stream individual tracks below and head to Soundcloud for the full playlist (plus new remixes from Louis Futon and The Melker Project). #TGIF
