Big K.R.I.T. – King of The South and Cadillactica album

Hopefully, you’re already aware that the return of Big KRIT is imminent. If not, you have plenty of opportunity to enjoy the talented Mississippi-bred rapper/producer’s latest album, Cadillactica. The ambitious new effort is only K.R.I.T.’s second official studio album, but the “king remembered in time” feels like a veteran with countless mixtape and two EP’s in his short career.

The new album is getting much deserved promotion and streaming a week in advance of its release at NPR. After one listen, Cadillactica didn’t disappoint with a mix of soulful southern narratives (“Soul Food”, “Life”) and trunk-rattling parking lot anthems (“My Sub Pt. 3”, “Mind Control”). “King Of The South” might not please the self-appointed king, T.I., but is more potent than anything Clifford has produced in at least two albums. The addictive title track has been on repeat since its recent release with rapid-fire rhymes and otherworldly production. File Cadillactica with highly anticipated efforts from NaS, Prhyme and Kendrick on the way.
