Since about 2006, anything that mentions Cut Copy is likely to garner at least a listen from my ears. Songwriter and bassist of the Aussie act, Ben Browning, made his debut on Zonoscope and has made quality contributions ever since. On a solo tip, Browning previously released his first EP, Lover Motion in 2012 and is currently prepping a proper debut album.
“Make It Easy” serves as an excellent, buzzworthy appetizer for Turns out this summer. The melodic track takes a less dance-heavy sound than Cut Cupy, but has plenty of earworm potential and keeps things interesting with retro synth, paced percussion and hazy reverb.
