I’m sure one could spend an eternity on Souncloud just looking for instrumentals to write about or sing/rap over, but my latest discovery has been on repeat all morning. Nashville-based producer Super Duper specializes in productions that have hints of hip-hop layered in electronic soundscapes. Tracks like “Time Zone” and “Banana Bread” touch Hudson Mohawke/Flume/Cashmere Cat territory with pulsing hip-hop percussion and blasts of humming synth that deserve more plays than Soundcloud plays reflect.
Super Duper’s latest production, “Angela”, is his most hypnotizing yet. The entire track has an ethereal, otherworldly feel with a stuttering sample and 808-like drums that give the effort a hopeful, confident aura. I foresee this being played during as many beach sunsets as possible.
