This week was mostly about getting out JayeL Audio 5-07-15 for me, but there were still plenty of remixes to blast.
I thought I had hit my limit of “Where Are U Now?” remixes, but The Knocks’ continued their ‘bootleg’ hit streak with a groove-centric take on the Jack U + Biebs hit. Adam Foster’s first appearance on Remix Friday took me back a few years with a deep house rendition of Nelly Furtado’s “Say It Right”, while WDSTCK’s debut greatly improved the Ed Sheeran + Rudimental collabo with tropical vibes. Elsewhere, Chordashian gave Little Daylight a touch of “indie haus”, Shallou gave CRUISR’s “Go For It” some sparkling synth, while Dr. Fresch ventures into deep house territory on “Lightweight”. Not to be outdone, Pomo produced a masterful remix of Alina Baraz & Galimatias’ “Fantasy” and SPHYNX spiced up Pep & Rash’s “Rumors” for Spinnin’ Deep.
Worldwide sensation Stromae has blown up just about everywhere, except the U.S. I’m betting that will change and Major Lazer’s booming percussion and stuttering vocal effects on “Ave Cesaria” could help. I can see this one making a crowd erupt at a future festival appearance.
